Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The Uhuru Day Initiative promoted the popular slogan KICHWA KIMOJA, MCHE MMOJA | PANDA MTI, VUTA OKSIJENI as part of a drive to plant trees at Dodoma University and the neighbouring districts of Dodoma. Under the motto “CHANGIA DAMU OKOA, MAISHA YA WANA KITAA,” participants in the initiative are encouraged to donate blood in a safe manner. College students, boda boda riders, daladala operators, police officers, and initiative stakeholders participated in the event. The named stakeholders collaborated with TIF in providing services and expertise to shape the project activities.
Key Lessons/Results Obtained:
- Through the Campaign, there was an increase in knowledge and a more upbeat mindset that made it easier to address environmental issues and the amazing biodiversity of the area while also bringing about tangible changes that will benefit present and future generations.
- The campaign drew sizable crowds and effectively conveyed its intended message, which is to encourage safe blood donation in order to support the community’s most vulnerable members, notably those who are injured over the holiday season and those in need of blood support at Dodoma hospitals.
WE were able to plant 4000+ Trees.
