Project Title: Fans Festival
Theme: The royal fans day out
Implementing Organization: Triprecy Initiative Foundation (TIF)
Thematic Areas: Entertainment, Community Awareness, Education Support, Gender Equality, Health and Sanitation
1. Background and Rationale
In Tanzania, many adolescent girls miss school during menstruation due to a lack of sanitary products, inadequate hygiene facilities, and social stigma. This absence not only affects their academic performance but also exposes them to risks of early pregnancies, infections, and school dropout.
Triprecy Initiative Foundation (TIF), in collaboration with government stakeholders and community partners, has initiated the “Keeping Girls in School +255” campaign. The aim is to address menstrual health challenges, improve school hygiene infrastructure, and empower marginalized girls to pursue education with dignity.
To mobilize resources and raise awareness, TIF proposes the Fans Festival—a large-scale arts and sports community event uniting sports fans, families, and stakeholders for a social cause and mutual benefits.
2. Project Goal
To promote menstrual health and improve access to hygiene facilities for schoolgirls in Tanzania by mobilizing community awareness, resources, and partnerships through the Fans Festival- event
