Project Title: Uhuru Day Initiatives
Theme: A Greener, More Sustainable Dodoma
Organized by: Triprecy Initiative Foundation (TIF)
Target Location: Dodoma Region, Tanzania
1. Executive Summary
The Uhuru Day Initiatives is a flagship community campaign led by the Triprecy Initiative Foundation (TIF) to address environmental degradation and strengthen public health in Dodoma, Tanzania. Timed annually between December 1st–10th, the project coincides with Independence Day celebrations and the start of the rainy season.
Through large-scale tree planting, climate education, and a parallel blood donation campaign, the initiative aims to:
- Plant 10000+ trees to combat desertification, restore ecosystems, and improve livelihoods.
- Conduct community awareness programs on sustainable environmental practices.
- Mobilize blood donations with a target of 2,000+ units to enhance health resilience.
With strong collaboration from government, communities, and institutions, TIF seeks to create lasting socio-environmental impact while promoting local ownership of climate and humanitarian action.
2. Context and Justification
Dodoma faces critical challenges including desertification, land degradation, erratic rainfall, and limited health resources. These issues undermine food security, water availability, and community well-being.
The initiative responds by integrating climate change adaptation and public health support, building on previous successes where TIF and partners planted thousands of trees and collected 276 units of blood. Uhuru Day 2025 seeks to scale impact, restoring degraded lands, improving biodiversity, and saving lives through consistent blood supply.
